Think back to school assemblies and what your parents taught you as a child; fire safety is important and knowing what to do could save your life.
Smoke Alarm Advice:
Your landlord or their managing agent will make sure that your new home has all the necessary smoke alarms and check that they are working. However, it is your job to make sure they are tested and working throughout your time in your new home. Remember, a working smoke alarm could stop a fire before things go from bad to worse.
What are Smoke Alarms?
Smoke alarms are self-contained devices that detect a fire (by the smoke) and sound an alarm to alert anyone in the house to the potential threat. They are about the size of a hand and are normally fitted to the ceiling. As smoke alarms can detect fires in their early stages, they give you a few extra moments to get out of the house to safety before things escalate.
